Showing with Hockley

Absolutely anyone can compete and show with us if they wish. We have opportunities for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders from children, to youths to adults in both English and Western disciplines.

 

We plan and practice for shows year round. In lessons and clinics, we school our horses and prepare at home. We test ourselves, review tapes and videos, practice patterns, discuss strategies and then we hit the road in May!

 

At the shows, students are coached throughout the day. Classes, patterns and courses are planned together. Students are taught to be responsible for their horses, to be prepared and organized for their classes and to evaluate their performance which is then reviewed with their coach in order to improve their approach to their next class.

We encourage parents and families to participate and we always have a great time together at our tents and tables with picnics and snacks. It's always a warm, friendly and fun filled environment with an emphasis on achieving personal best as well as being in the ribbons.
